Observational Quote of The Day 2: MEALS
"When you eat between the "normal" hours for breakfast and lunch, your meal is called brunch. When you eat between the "normal" hours for lunch and dinner, your meal is called a snack - It should be called luinner."

Observational Quote of The Day
So many people use inspirational quotes to "get inspired" about one part of life or another, but how many people use observational quotes to "get inspired" about one part of life or another? Right. I'm going to try to do an Observational Quote of The Day on this site. The quote will come from something that may have occurred to me or crossed my mind that day that I find to be fascinating or just interesting, or something I have just observed... AND you can quote me on it. Feel free to take sufficient time to ponder the Observational Quote of The Day!
Observational Quote 1: SHORTS
"Generally speaking, men wear long shorts, and women wear short shorts. However, running men wear short long shorts, yet running women still wear short shorts."

MBTI...INFP
I've never really been a fan of most labels, but for some reason I am a big fan of the MBTI. Understanding what makes people tick, why certain people harmonize, why certain people conflict, is very fascinating to me. Check it out!

Find your 4 letters and check out the resources on the page for explanations and applications. Very cool.

COFFEE? BEER?
What is it about coffee's "acquired taste" that makes it so damn good once you've acquired it? I suppose not all coffee is good in my mind. Much the same with beer... What is it about coffee that grabs me? It must be the complexity of flavor as with beer. But coffee is just one ingredient. How complex can you get? Beer's complexity comes from the blending of several ingredients. Coffee: just beans. And magical beans they are! I am currently drinking an Ethiopian "blend" from Caribou. What makes this a blend? Maybe I am misled... Anyone care to clarify? When I started drinking coffee it was all dark roasts I drank. When I started drinking beer...mostly into porters and stouts (dark beer). Now I find myself getting into lighter roasts, such as this Ethiopian - I also really enjoy Caribou's Kenyan. Similar switch with beer. I am now a big fan of the "lighter" IPAs (b/c of their distinct, biting, hoppy, flavor). At the beginning, though, certainly it was not these traits that drew me to the respective brew worlds. It was something much different from what I appreciate them for now. Crazy. Thoughts?
Stark Trek: The Next Generation
What a show. I find that every time I watch an episode I am transported back to my childhood. There is something about it that creates a feeling of nostalgia for me like no other TV show. I feel that this connection could be directly traced to FOX29's 9PM and 10PM syndicated showings of ST: TNG back around 1995, 1996 and me staying up to watch them with my dad, as a 3rd or 4th grader... Although I have seen every episode (177 of them?), I get something new and unique out of an episode every time I re-watch. And that theme song. So cool. Yes it is not completely original to the series. ST: TMP was the first to use the fanfare, and Goldsmith adapted it for the series. Anyhow, I get rather pumped up every intro viewing. I just finished Episode 12: Datalore on Netflix. This is why it is on my mind! So there you have it. My first blog.
